We all talk about the weather and what is going on in our own little enviornment. Sometimes we appreciate the situation and sometimes we bemoan it. But when Mother Nature runs amok, there is little we can do but try to be prepared for the worst she can give and wait it out.
Thousands of people die each year due to natural disasters. Heavy winds, excessive precipitation, extreme temperatures, drought, and the normal shifting of the earth all bring on situations that can range from merely uncomfortable to life-threatening.
It is with this thought in mind that we present this section to educate you on the disasters that Mother Nature shares with us here in Kitsap County and the State of Washington.
